Carmel & Jim's wedding:
"You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call 'The Prestige'."

Carmel & Jim, a wonderful Irish-American couple hailing from Galway booked me to perform at & MC their special day in the luxurious G-Hotel Galway on October 28th 2023. This spooktacular Halloween/Autumnal wedding was so much fun & guests came from far & wide to celebrate with this special couple!

As they booked my Full Day MC package, my duties included:
-
Greeting guests at the reception.
-
Performing close up magic & mindreading during the reception.
-
Announcing the dinner call.
-
Ushering guests in for dinner alongside the G staff.
-
Announcing the Bride & Groom into the room with music of their choice (The Monster Mash!)
-
Performing a Cabaret magic show for the room to warm them up for the speeches.
-
Introducing the speeches.
-
Providing my own PA system & Microphone for excellent clarity and sound.
-
Playing a custom playlist during the meal as the hotel's system wasn't working!
-
Performing more close up magic during the meal around the tables.
-
Finally, announcing the turning of the room & the first dance!

How did it go?

"Jamie is the only reason I came here tonight" - the Groom during his speech!

The Bride's Father commenting on Facebook!
But the story doesn't end there...
I always like to perform 3 special illusions just for the lucky couple, usually at their table during dinner or prior to their entrance into the room. One involves me guessing a childhood Pets name, the other involves the couple magically spelling their names out using alphabet cards! The final trick I perform leaves them with an impossible keepsake! They each choose a playing card, sign their individual names on the cards... only to have those 2 separate cards melt in their hands and fuse into one... leaving the couple with a double sided playing card with both their names, presented in a golden frame for them to keep!
But unfortunately, I received an email from Jim the week after, letting me know how they had misplaced their magic gift and how distraught they both were! (Click to enlarge)

So, one of their close friends got in touch, asking how we could remedy the situation! I found two identical cards to the ones they chose, stuck them back to back, and asked their friends if there was any way I could secretly get a copy of their individual signatures. So I essentially made a "replica" of their gift, as well as framing the same alphabet cards they used on the night of their wedding. I posted these off to Galway and Jim & Carmel's friends suprised them with the gifts in a pub over some drinks...
I think the video speaks for itself!

Reunited & it feels so good!
