About the venue

An 18th-century house on Lough Ourna, with a ceremony room over the water

Ashley Park House stands on the shore of Lough Ourna, near Nenagh in Co. Tipperary. John Head began the present house in the mid-1700s, and the venue calls it a listed national monument. Beech woodland and formal gardens surround it. A walled garden with gazebos and greenhouses sits at the centre, and the ruin of a medieval stone tower stands on the island in the lake.

You can hold a civil or humanist ceremony in the glass-fronted Ceremony Room, which overhangs the lake and seats up to 180 guests. Next, your guests take drinks and canapés at the front of the house, above the water. Live music plays on the veranda or in the Drawing Room. The lakeside Pavilion Marquee holds up to 280 for the meal and the dancing, and 50 en suite bedrooms keep your guests on the estate.

Magic above the lake, then at every table
