About the venue

A Palladian hotel in the Wicklow hills

Powerscourt Hotel sits in Powerscourt Estate in Co. Wicklow, on 1,000 acres with the Sugar Loaf Mountain behind it. Its curved Palladian front looks out over the Wicklow landscape, and Dublin city centre is about 30 minutes away by car.

Couples can marry on site in one of the suites or on the Amphitheatre, and the hotel is approved for civil ceremonies. Drinks go out to the Secret Garden beside the Ballroom, where up to 400 guests can sit down to dinner under six crystal chandeliers.

At Carla and Jack's wedding at Powerscourt Hotel, Jamie worked the drinks reception with magic and mind reading, and kept a trick for the couple themselves in front of their families. The photos by @paolarechphoto show how it landed: the groom with his hands over his ears, the bride doubled up laughing.

“10/10 entertainment! Jamie performed at our drinks reception and left our guests speechless! We didn’t tell any of our guests we had organised a magician for drinks reception. As we had a black tie wedding, Jamie dressed in black tie too and blended in with the crowd to appear as a guest. Needless to say, the reactions were brilliant. Word quickly spread “did you see the magician yet?”. We had so many guests say “Jamie was the highlight of the day, how does he do it???” Jamie was actually the first vendor we booked, because we knew the magic he brought would be something our guests would never forget — and we were absolutely right! As always he saved the best for last and wowed us with an amazing trick and memento to take home. We couldn’t recommend him enough. Don’t wait, just book him. You definitely won’t regret it!”
